Today In Music………….

new_masterhead11The Weekend is now nearly in reaching distance, so lets enjoy are last moments of this week with a little reminder of what has happened in Music over the past years.

2008: Ronald Isley’s appeal against a three-year jail term for tax fraud was rejected by a US Court. He argued about the fact he was imprisoned in a Indiana Jail on the grounds of age and poor health.

2007: During a press conference at West Hollywood’s Whisky A Go Go Club, Sting confirmed that The Police were reuniting and were to tour on May 28th in Vancouver, Canada supported by Sting’s                     Son Joe’s band, Fiction Plane.

2000: Bass Player John London died at the young age of only 58, he worked with the likes of The Monkees, James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt.

1997: U2 held a press conference in the Lingerie Department at the Greenwich Village Kmart Store in Manhatten, New York to announce their Pop Mart World Tour.

1995: Van Halen scored their first US No.1 album with ‘Balance’. 

1994: Alice In Chains entered the US Album Chart at No.1 with ‘Jar Of Flies’. 

1980: Iggy Pop and The Psychedelic Furs appeared at London’s Hammersmith Palais, Tickets cost £3 ($5.10).

Ozzy cancels show?

84_ozzy_osbourne_l1001064Rock legend Ozzy osbourne has been reported to have canceled his show The Ozzfest as he wants to carry on making and improving his 10th album. Although most stars blame the poor Ticket sales due to the recession, Old School Ozzy says he wants to devote his time to making his album even better, So good on you Ozzy!!!!

Limp Bizkit Back For Good?

Since being with out each other for nearly 8 years the band have made up their differences and are looking forward to getting back out into the world we know as Show Biz.  The Band’s Fred Durst and Wes Borland recently admitted in a joint statement that:

 

“We decided we were more disgusted and bored with the state of heavy popular music than we were with each other”.

The Fivesome will kick off with a tour in the Spring in Europe, where they will also perform in places they have’nt been before like Russia!!!! The dates will shortly be announced on their new official website Limpbizkit.com

Tom Jones Just Loves Glastonbury…………

6833199Pop legend Tom Jones has recently admitted to love playing at the mostly Indie Glastonbury Festival, the singer also proclaimed that his expierence with his performance in the early 90’s was clearly an unforgetable one. Mr Tom Jone’s most valuble memory of the show was when he noticed two guys in the front row who had created a banner and stuck it on a pole, the banner read ‘Tom Fucking Jones’. So will the ‘Green Green Grass’ man play at the festival, who knows, its all in good time my friend, all in good time.
