Hard Rock Calling Welcomes McCartney!

Sir Paul McCartney is to headline this years Hard Rock Calling festival held in London’s Hyde Park. The ex-Beatle will play at the festival on Sunday 27th July and will be performing alongside the likes of Pearl Jam and The Gaslight Anthems, although the other two acts are performing on Friday 25th July. Shortlist For Chelmsford’s V Festival Announced!

Finally! The long awaited V Festival shortlist has been announced, with a lot of great, worth-seeing acts headlining this years Chelmsford bash. The festival will take place on August 21st to 22nd, one date in Chelsmford, one date in Staffordshire.Tickets are on sale Friday 5th March at 9AM – so be up early to be sure to bag your tickets! Ringo Finally Gets His Star!

Ringo's Star!

As previously reported, Ringo Starr was set to receive his very own star on the famous Hollywood walk of fame in Hollywood, and February 8th was the day his star finally arrived! Ringo’s star is located on 1750 N Vine Street (in front of the historic Capitol Records Building) and is number 2,401! Us at ZED8 are glad he finally was awarded with such an honor, as it definitely made him smile a little! Along with Ringo’s Star, the Hollywood walk of fame also celebrated it’s 50th birthday, after countless amount of stars and celebrities graced the landmark over the years. Who would have thought a little four piece band from Liverpool could take over the world – and receive stars!

BRIT’s: Full Show (Part 7) Finale!

Welcome back to the final part of the BRIT’s, where Robbie Williams is about to take the stage to perform his hit single ‘Bodies’ as part of his outstanding contribution to music award! But oh wait- It’s the ‘Let Me Entertain You’ track! I guess Williams wanted to go back to his old roots; go Robbie go! Now that’s what we call a performance, Williams got the audience jumping – at the BRIT’s! Now the star has transformed the track to ‘I Wanna Feel Real Love’, an infectious melody. Now he’s belting out ‘Come undone’; rock kicks and all! Finally, Williams is closing his act with his latest song ‘You Know Me’ s Chorus, keep on entertaining us Robbie! But wait, he’s singing yet another track titled ‘No Regrets’ followed by a quick burst of ‘Millenium’ and the first part of ‘Angels’! The crowd loves it, and starts to sing back to Robbie as he passes the microphone over to them; classic.

BRIT’s: Full Show (Part 6)

Mika is up next to announce the winner of the best international album to Lady GaGa with ‘The Fame’ – Her third BRIT already! GaGa is nearly close to tears now, as she makes her THIRD acceptance speech; you go GaGa! This means she has won all three international awards for the females!

Next to perform is Girls Aloud gordie Cheryl Cole, performing her debut single ‘Fight For This Love’, as well as singing her lyrics to an old club tune ‘Show Me Love’, a good remix as well as a quick costume change. A great performance done by all! Alan Carr takes to the stage to give the award to the winner of the best british single voted by Radio 2 listeners to JLS with ‘Beat Again’. A second BRIT for the X-Factor runner-ups, who even thanked Simon Cowell in their SECOND speech! Fashion designer Tom Ford accompanies Peter Kay to give the award for the Master Card Best British Album of the year to Florence & The Machine with ‘Lungs’! Well, ‘Lungs’ was definitely the biggest selling album of 2009, well done Florence! Robbie Williams up next but for now..MORE ADS!

BRIT’s: Full Show (Part 5)

BBC’s own Jonathan Ross (dressed up as self titled ‘bling crosby’) is up to present the next award of Best International Female to (yet again) Lady Gaga! As she struts her stuff on the catwalk towards the stage, Jonathan Ross greets her with a bear hug, before she goes on to thank even more people (wow that GaGa knows a lot of people!). Dame Shirley Bassey has now taken stage to announce the winner for the Best british female solo artist, which is awarded to orange wig wearing Lily Allen (when asked about her wig she said it was a disguise incase she didn’t win) who has even prepared a speech written down on a piece of paper!

Next up to perform on stage is Jay Z and Alicia Keys who are here to perform their single ‘Empire State of Mind’, a great track providing a sense of the real New York; ‘A concrete jungle where dreams are made’! Oh those breaks again!

BRIT’s: Full Show (Part 4)

Hello – AGAIN! Breaks over, and Peter Kay is back with his comical charm once again! The next award is for the Best British Group and is awarded to the awesome Kasabian who’s debut album was released Six years ago! Tom Meighan proved himself a tough man as he fell up the stage whilst accepting the award, although he gathered himself together to say ‘You can’t make an omelet without breaking an egg! – Random or what? Cat Deeley is currently occupying the stage, awarding the international breakthrough act to the one and only Lady Gaga.

An unlikely duet of Dizzee Rascal and Florence & The Machine is up now, both of whom are performing their own version of ‘You’ve Got The Love’! The performance is rather swell, with both acts parading around the stage beneath the red and orange confetti which has smothered the stage! Prince Harry makes a surprise video call to the BRITs as he congratulates everything that the act’s have achieved and how the BRIT’s have raised money for various charities. More ads – Ciao!

BRITs: Full Show (Part 3)

We’re back again, and this time the award is for the Best British Breakthrough Act announced by Geri Halliwel and awarded to JLS, who were all dressed in the same single breasted grey suit! Curt Corbains ex lover Courtney Love is up next to award the Critics Choice Award to Ellie Goulding who’s most famous hit to date is ‘Starry Eyed’ which is due out March 1st!

Wacky American Star Lady Gaga is next on the stage to perform a new song, dedicated to the late fashion designer Alexander McQueen who was a friend to Ms Gaga. The star really outshines the other acts who’ve already graced the stage, by performing a completely secret track and by breaking out in a contemporary dance. Of course, Ms Gaga is none to disappoint in the fashion department either as she sports yet another mad outfit which was dubbed by Peter Kay as ‘Ikea-like’. More adverts – back again in a few!
